Vizianagaram District Collector M Hari Jawahar Lal’s Facebook account has been hacked by cybercriminals.They have looted lakhs of rupees from people.
When the people got to know that they have been trapped by the cybercriminals, they informed the district collector, M Hari Jawahar Lal.Against this background, M Hari Jawahar Lal lodged a complaint with the police.
Primarily, the cyber criminals hacked Collector’s Facebook account and sent friend requests to hundreds of people.People accepted the friend request thinking that the collector has sent them.
Later, the cyber criminals had executed their plan.
They texted many people and asked them for money.The cyber criminals gave Gpay and Phonepay numbers to the people and asked to transfer money.Many people believed this and sent money to those Gpay and Phonepay numbers.Many victims sent Rs.10,000, Rs.15,000.
On the otherhand, some expressed suspicion and phoned the collector and asked him.Then, the collector came to know about the entire fraud.He made it clear that he had not asked anyone for money.
He urged the people not to believe if anyone asked for money in this way.He told the media that he had lodged a complaint with the police and the culprits will be caught soon.
