Fans and filmmakers in India are on tenterhooks as COVID-19 cases continue to rise in India with a cap of almost 3 lakh cases per day, resulting in a second wave of films facing a delayed-release.So far, numerous films have postponed their release dates.
One such film is the biopic of the late ex-chief minister of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalithaa that has been titled ‘Thalaivi’.The film was scheduled to release on April 23rd and is being counted as one of the most anticipated film releases of the year.However, rumors were bubbling out from baseless sources that the film ‘Thalaivi’ will be released on OTT due to the pandemic.But today, the controversial actress Kangana Ranaut who steps into the shoes of Jayalalithaa in the film has refuted all such reports and said the film will have OTT release only after it is first released in theatres.
Kangana furiously said that the Tamil rights were bagged by Amazon while the Hindi rights by Netlfix.
She also took a dig at nepotism and said that Bollywood Mafia has spread the fake news.
Coming to the details, the biopic is helmed by AL Vijay and will be bankrolled by Vibri Media in collaboration with Karma Media And Entertainment.‘Thalaivi’ will be released in three languages Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu due to the fame of the late politician in these states mainly.
The film specifically focuses on her inspiring journey from an actress to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
