The Central Election Commission has made all arrangements for the Tirupati by-election.In the wake of Covid, the polling time has been increased by two hours and the number of polling booths has also been increased.

Polling will be held on Saturday from 7 a.m.to 7 p.m.Voters with Covid‌ positive symptoms will be allowed to vote from 6 p.m.i.e; in the last one hour.

In the past, there was one polling booth for every 1,500 people, but now there is one polling booth for every 1,000 people to reduce the queues.A total of 28 candidates are vying and 17,11,195 voters are going to exercise their right to vote.

Vijayanand, the state Chief Electoral Officer, said the polls would be monitored by the command and control room at the Amravati secretariat, for which additional staff had been appointed.Central forces of 23 companies and 37 flying squads have been deployed to monitor the situations in polling booths, especially in the troublesome polling booths.

The Central Election Commission has appointed three observers to monitor the election.Dinesh Patil has been appointed as General Observer, Rajiv Kumar as Police Observer, and Anand Kumar as Election Expenditure Observer.

In addition, 816 micro-observers monitor the election from time to time.
