Natural Star Nani, Sudheer Babu, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Nivetha Thomas starrer thriller drama ‘V’ had a direct digital release on 5th September on Amazon Prime Video platform.The film which is helmed by Mohana Krishna Indraganti of ‘Sammohanam’ fame opened to some mixed response by the movie lovers and critics and was declared a flop on OTT.
Now the latest news is that a Bollywood model and actress Sakshi Malik filed a legal petition after the makers used her photograph in the film without taking the permission of the actress.Hence the Bombay High Court directed Amazon Prime India to take down a Telugu movie ‘V’ in all versions, irrespective of language and sub-titles until its makers deleted that scene where her photograph was used to depict a sex worker in the movie.
“The fact that the image has been illicitly used is bad enough.It only makes matters worse when used in a plainly derogatory and demeaning vein,” the High Court observed.
The Court also ordered that Amazon Prime Video cannot release the re-edited version of the film without a specific order of the Court.The matter will again be heard on March 8th.The film will be available back once the issue gets sorted.
The movie ‘V’ marked Nani’s 25th film in the film industry and is bankrolled by star producer Dil Raju under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations.SS.Thaman composed the background score while Amit Trivedi composed the music of the film and it had Cinematography by PG.Vinda.Stay tuned for more updates!
