Education Ministry releases new guidelines for School re-opening.
‘If the students prefer to attend only online classes, they may be permitted to do so’ states the Education Ministry in one of its guidelines released for re-opening schools.Recently, the Education Ministry released certain guidelines for school reopening under Unlock 5.0.
“Guidelines for reopening of schools/HEIs outside containment zones: States/UTs may decide in respect of reopening of schools & coaching institutes after Oct 15, in a graded manner.” tweeted the Ministry of Education.
As per the directives, all education intuitions including schools and colleges can choose to reopen after October 15 only in non-containment zones.The exact dates are left to the concern of state governments.
School students are allowed to come to school with the written consent of their parents or guardians.If the students prefer to attend only online classes, they may be permitted to do so. States and UTs need to prepare their own SOPs incorporating Education Ministry SOP, and all the schools which decide to reopen must follow the SOP issued by the state education departments.
Besides, College institutes would reopen based on certain procedures only for PhD research scholars and PG students in science and technology streams who require experimental or lab work.
