Versatile director Mani Ratnam who is currently working on his dream project ‘Ponniyan Selvan’, has been in talks with Amazon Prime for some time about a web series but the latest information is that Netflix came into the picture and bagged the deal of this crazy series.This series will be bankrolled by Mani Ratnam under his production banner Madras Talkies.
Titled as ‘Navarasa’, this will be a nine-part Tamil anthology, where directors like Gautham Menon, Bejoy Nambiar, Sudha Kongara, Karthik Naren, KV.Anand, Rathindran Prasad, and Ponram will be helming one episode each.An interesting update is that popular actors Siddharth and Arvind Swamy will make their directorial debut with this series and as they will also be directing one episode each.Mani Ratnam himself may direct one episode too says sources.
A total of 9 different stories will be directed by 9 directors and every story will have different stars cast from different industries.Buzz is that actors like Parvathy, Sneha, Dulquer Salmaan, Suriya, Vijay Sethupathi, Aravind Swamy, Siddarth, Jai, GV Prakash Kumar, and Fahadh Faasil are currently under consideration for this series.
The project would be made on a high budget and will roll soon.More details will be announced officially soon.
