One of the Musical legends down south and a Guinness World Record holder for singing the most film songs (over 40,000 songs in 16 Indian languages), Padma Bhushan SP.Balasubramaniam has donated his ancestral house for a noble cause.
Going into the details, though SPB is currently settled in Chennai, this icoic singer also owns a very old ancestral property in Thipparajuvari Street, Nellore.And he has now donated this house to the Kanchi Peetha to establish and maintain a Veda school there.
At his home on Tuesday night, SPB presented it to Sri Jagadguru Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Sankaracharya Swamy, the Kanchi Vice-President.The school will be named after SPB’s father, SP.Sambamurthy.
Speaking on the occasion, SP.Balasubramaniam said, “Our father was a devotee of Saivism.He had great devotion.
He is not here with us, but i feel he will be here in this school hereafter”.
It is said that SPB got many offers to sell this property for some hefty amounts, but SPB did not yield and came forward to donate the place for a noble cause.
This gesture from the senior singer is now being appreciated all over!!
