Tollywood’s young sensation Vijay Devarakonda is currently going through a dull time.After blockbuster hits like Arjun Reddy and Geetha Govindham, the actor failed to repeat the magic at the box office.
His upcoming film ‘World Famous Lover’ is all set to hit the screens on Valentine’s Day;14th of February and the entire industry is eagerly waiting for the same.
According to trade sources, the film managed to do a pre-release business of Rs 30.50 Crores.With Andhra theatrical rights purchased by a single buyer for Rs 10 Crores and Nizam rights valued at Rs 9 Crores, the film has done some good business when taken note of the slump in Vijay Devarakonda’s career.
The Rest of India theatrical rights fetched the producers Rs 4 Crores, with the overseas rights closing at Rs 3.50 Crores.On the whole, World Famous Lover pre-release business touched Rs 23 Crores (with Rs 4 Crores as an advance in the Ceded region) in the Telugu States and Rs 30.50 Crores worldwide.Will have to wait and see whether this will be a profitable venture for the rising hero or another dull show at the box office.On the other hand, VD’s ‘Dear Comrade’ did a pre-release business of 34.50 Crores.
