Bollywood is back to the act remaking Telugu hit movies.In the past, many hits of Salman Khan were indeed remakes of Tollywood films.
It looks like the trend has once again picked up.With Shahid Kapoor ‘Kabir Singh’ minting gold at the box office, the film’s producer Ashwin Varde once again came forward seeking remake rights of a Telugu film.
This time around, it is none other than Stylish Star Allu Arjun’s latest release Ala Vaikuntapuramulo.The film went on to become Non-BB2 industry hit and reaped huge profits for its producers.
Ashwin Varde has been in touch with director Trivikram Srinivas, and producers Chinna Babu (S Radha Krishna) and Allu Aravind.
Reportedly, Ala Vaikuntapuramulo remake rights have been purchased for a staggering amount of Rs 8 crores, according to industry sources.
With the film minting gold at the box office, the Bollywood producers hope to repeat the same.With Telugu film market no more restricted to just Telugu states and the US, the demand for remake rights too increased along with the market share.
