Urmila Chaturvedi Devi breaks her fasting only after the lord Rama enters into the temple.
82-year-old woman, Urmila Devi has been fasting since 1992 and just consuming fruits and milk.She took a vow after Babri Masjid demolished and nearly 2000 people died in the widespread violence in 1992.She was 54 years then, and from 28 years she has been waiting for the lord Rama to enter into Ram Mandir.
She is in the world of ecstasy now as the bhumi puja takes place on August 5th in Ayodhya.
When the Supreme court gave the verdict in favour of Ram temple, she was delighted and sent her congratulatory letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Urmila Devi said that she will continue her fasting for three more years and would break it after taking prasad from the new Ayodhya Ram Mandir. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay a 40 kg silver brick at the construction site on August 5th.Due to COVID-19, only a few people have invited to the ceremony.The Uttar Pradesh state government and temple trust have a plan to invite the devotees district-wise after Covid-19 reduces its impact.
