New Delhi, Nov 18, : .Chief Minister Arvind Kehriwal of Delhi said Thursday that the Yamuna River which has gotten clogged over 70 years can’t be cleaned in just two days.
“I promised the people in 2015 Delhi elections that the country would be clean by the next election.The war-footing .has been started.Kejriwal stated that he was personally watching it at this press conference.

Convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party also revealed a six point plan to restore bathing standards to Yamuna River by February 2025.

Kejriwal referred to 2015’s assembly elections and said that he had made a promise that he would take a dip into the Yamuna before the next election.

He will also take the Delhi people for a dip.

According to him, Yamuna is contaminated by the city’s sewer.Delhi’s sewage treatment capacity is currently 650 MGD.It should have a maximum of 850 MGD.Kejriwal stated that we are currently building new treatment facilities for this purpose.

New sewer treatment plants will be built.

He said that second, existing plants are being expanded and third, technology is changing for old treatment plants.

He said that the Delhi government was building new sewage treatment plants, increasing their capacity and upgrading existing ones.

The company plans to offer household connections for areas with a sewer system.The connection was previously made by the consumer.

Also, the government started rehabilitation and de-silting of the sewer network.

The Delhi Chief Minister stated that “Specific targets were set for each point of action and I will monitor their progress personally.”
