Kiev 13 Aug : The fifth caravan of vessels carrying grain left out of Ukraine’s Black Sea ports under a agreement to avoid an outbreak of food shortages across the globe as the Ukrainian Infrastructure Ministry said on Facebook. The general cargo vessel SORMOVSKIY 12 as well as the bulk transporter STAR LAURA together carrying 63,000 tons of food products left from the ports of Chornomorsk and Pivdenny respectively according to the Ministry added on Friday.
On Friday, two additional ships, BRAVE COMMANDER as well as PETREL S are scheduled to arrive at Chornomorsk and Pivdenny ports to load the vessels, the Ministry announced and added that the ships will transport more than 40,000 tons of grain coming from Ukraine.
On the 22nd of July, Ukraine and Russia separately signed a contract with Turkey as well as the UN in Istanbul to restart shipments of fertiliser and food out of Ukrainian ports to markets around the world via the Black Sea, Xinhua news agency reported.
On August 1st the first cargo ship transporting grains quit Odesa, the Ukrainian port of Odesa to head for the port of Tripoli in Lebanon.
