They help us in sensing everything in front of us and transfer the sight to brain for better understanding of the picture. In other sense, they build our perception. Spinach and other dark, leafy green vegetables are rich source of lutein and zeaxanthin, two antioxidants that contribute enormously to your eye health. The macula is a part of the retina in the eye which performs as a natural sunblock, protecting the eye from damaging light. Lutein and zeaxanthin absorb blue light, which is especially harmful to the retina. So, having green vegetables in our diet help us to fight will all lighting conditions which can keep our eyes at risk. However, cutting down the usage of smartphones, computer and TV screens automatically lowers the risk of retina damage. A human body converts Beta Carotene into Vitamin A, which carries the equal amount of benefits to the eyes. In a recent research conducted in Canada, the researches proved that Carrots help in avoiding eye infections and other eye sight problems. It cuts the risks by 56 %, says the report of the research. In military camps of several countries, the army men are provided with Carrots before they are trained in shooting.
