They help us in sensing everything in front of us and transfer the sight to brain for better understanding of the picture. In other sense, they build our perception. So, it is important to protect eyes and eye sight. Here we are presenting those superfoods which can bless your eyes with health and also better sighting power.


Blue light is something which comes our way quite often in this social media age. We stick to our smartphones for hours and hours everyday which makes our eyes get exposed to wavelengths of light. So, we need foods that can protect our eyes and the power of eye sight from such harmful light. In addition, we also need foods that can also minimize the effect of sunlight on our retina. Spinach and other dark, leafy green vegetables are rich source of lutein and zeaxanthin, two antioxidants that contribute enormously to your eye health. The macula is a part of the retina in the eye which performs as a natural sunblock, protecting the eye from damaging light. Lutein and zeaxanthin absorb blue light, which is especially harmful to the retina. So, having green vegetables in our diet help us to fight will all lighting conditions which can keep our eyes at risk. So, never forget to include greens like Spinach, Kale, Collards etc must be included in your daily routine diet. However, cutting down the usage of smartphones, computer and TV screens automatically lowers the risk of retina damage. Because, a fresh, caught fish is highly beneficial when compared with a raised fish in the farm. Wild fishes have less saturated fats and high amount of omega 3 fatty acids. On the flip side, a farm raised fish has more saturated fats and less amount of omega 3 fatty acids. Recent study reveals that lutein levels will get increased by 26% and zeaxanthin levels will get increased by 38% , if your egg yolk intake is regular. We can fight the darkness as much as we can with the help of Rhodopsin which is an important content in carrot. A human body converts Beta Carotene into Vitamin A, which carries the equal amount of benefits to the eyes. In a recent research conducted in Canada, the researches proved that Carrots help in avoiding eye infections and other eye sight problems. It cuts the risks by 56 %, says the report of the research. In military camps of several countries, the army men are provided with Carrots before they are trained in shooting.

Not just the green leafy items that carry rich amount of antioxidants, but also the Vitamin C present in Citrus fruits do help your eye health. There are several other super foods that boost up your eye sight even under abnormal circumstances and seasonal infections.
