Tokyo, Dec 8, 2008 : According to Japan Meteorological Agency, (JMA), Wednesday’s earthquake of magnitude 5.0 struck Japan’s Fukushima Prefecture. According to Xinhua news agency, the temblor occurred around 2.29 a.m.local.Its epicentre was located at 37.2 degrees north and 141.2 degrees east.It reached a depth of 20 kilometers.
According to the Japanese seismic intensity scale, which peaks at 7.8, the quake recorded 3 in Fukushima Prefecture.
No tsunami warning has been issued yet.
