Locals are worried over the death of four sheep in four days in Chapalabanda village in the Duggondi zone of the Warangal district.Dr Sharada collected samples of dead sheep and sent the samples to the Livestock Main Hospital Lab in the Warangal district centre for testing.

However, the test report confirmed that the sheep were infected with Anthrax.With this, the shepherds and villagers are worried and panicking.

Anthrax can be fatal if it infects humans from sheep.Anthrax is usually spread by eating contaminated food and meat.Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea.Although the disease is transmitted directly from person to person, it does not spread as rapidly as the flu and measles.

Authorities advised the herd owners to keep the herd away from the village.Anthrax is transmitted not only from cattle to cattle but also from cattle to humans.
