Since former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha passed away, her residence, the Veda Nilayam has been hitting the headlines.Many have tried to get over the residence.
But finally, the Tamil Nadu government has owned it and made it a monument to her.
The three-storey residence is spread over 21 thousand square feet at Teynampet in Chennai.Recently the officials have decided to move the entire assets in the Veda Nilayam to Dr J.Jayalalithaa Memorial Foundation and disclosed the details.
According to the reports, the Veda Nilayam has 4.3 kilograms of gold and 601 kilograms of silver.Also, the furniture includes 11 Televisions, 10 refrigerators, and 38 air conditioners.The surprising elements here are the showcase knives in the kitchen and Jayalalitha’s pair of shoes.
The officials stated that there are 1105 showcase knives in the kitchen and 10,438 varieties of pair of shoes.
The government has almost spent 67.9 crores to own the Veda Nilayam.After Jayalalitha fell ill in 2016, she had been hospitalized for 75 days and unexpectedly passed away due to cardiac arrest.
