Sydney 18 August : Three men were arrested in Australia for the alleged importation of nearly 750 kg of methamphetamine concealed in marble slabs of stone police reported on Thursday.
Australian Border Force (ABF) officers discovered 748 kilograms of methamphetamine hidden within marble stones in container ships that been brought to in Sydney from the United Arab Emirates last month,reports the news agency dpa.

The drug, which is also referred to as meth or ice is estimated to have a street value of A$675 million ($468 million) according to the police.

New South Wales state police and the ABF confirmed that two men in their 20s and one in his 30s were later accused with having imported commercial quantities of an illegal border drug and participating in the sale of huge quantities commercially of the drug that is illegal.

Police believe the drugs were brought in by an organized criminal syndicate.

“We will be claiming that the actions these men engaged in prior to as well as after show they were well-trained in the activities they were engaged in and were aware of the dangers of police work,” New South Wales police’s John Watson said.

“These syndicates have no concern for the security of others and , as they’ve shown this week, employ every method necessary to create illicit wealth and finance further criminal businesses.”

“The confiscation is a warning for all organised crime organisations that it doesn’t what your sophisticated covert operations are the ABF officers will be able to find the evidence,” ABF Superintendent Joanne Yeats, Detained Goods Management said.
