2nd Test, Day 5: Sajid Kan leads Pakistan to a 2-0 series victory over Bangladesh

Bangladesh opened the day at 76/7 in the first innings.Taijul Islam was yet to score, while Shakib Al Hazan was on 23.

After lunch, Das resumed the proceedings with a boundary off Sajid on the first ball in the afternoon session.Both batters appeared to be at ease at the crease and were determined to draw their side.

Sajid struck again just a few more overs later.Fawad Alam, the square leg fielder, was trying to pull a short ball.

Das fumbled the first time but managed to catch it safely the second.After missing out on a fifty-by-five run, the Bangladesh batter looked dejected and made a long walk back towards the dugout.

The reliable Shakib joined Rahim.Rahim remained firm at the crease, but Shakib sometimes accelerated the scoreboard by adding boundaries.

The partnership was close to the 50-run mark.Bangladesh lost Rahim at the end of Tea.Shakib hit the ball short of mid-wicket, and called for a single which saw Rahim run out for 48.

In the final session, Bangladesh had only four wickets left.Mehidy Hasan and Shakib Al Hasan led the charge for Bangladesh to keep their hopes alive of a draw.Pakistan was determined to win.Their skipper Babar Azam took his first wicket in international cricket and dismissed Mehidy lbw for 70 runs 14, bringing an end of a 51-run stand.

Two more wickets fell for Pakistan when the hosts lost Shakib Ahmed and Khaled Ahmed quickly.

Sajid snatched Khaled’s wicket after catching Shakib for a well made 63.He also took the final wicket from Taijul Islam, completing the hosts’ second innings for205.
