This will be certainly a good news all the centre government employees.The Seventh Pay Commission headed by Justice AK Mathur on Thursday submitted its report to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and it suggests 23.55% hike in pay and allowances of all central government govt employees.The Commission, headed by Justice A K Mathur, that presented its 900-page report to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

If the proposal was accepted by union ministry it will benefit 47 lakh serving employees of the government and 52 lakh pensioners.The pay commission has suggested a minimum salary of Rs 18,000 per month and maximum of Rs 2.25 lakh a month for apex scale.

The overall increase in salary, allowances and pensions is 23.55%.Pay will go up by 16%; increase in allowances will be 63%; increase in pension will be 24%.

The recommendations will be implemented from January 1, 2016.Pay Commission also recommends 3% annual increment.Enhancement in the ceiling of gratuity from the existing Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh

The impact the recommendations will be Rs 1.02 lakh crore — Rs 73,650 cr on Central Budget and Rs 28,450 cr on Railway Budget.Central government constitutes the pay commission every 10 years to revise the pay scale of its employees.The 6th Pay Commission was implemented with effect from January 1, 2006.
