The coronavirus pandemic and the lockdown had a big effect on the film industry worldwide.Now the Telugu film industry is getting back to shooting slowly and we have seen star heroes also getting back to sets recently.
Now the active Telugu film producers guild has come to a decision to cut down the remunerations of all artists and technicians.
The Movie Artiste’s Association (MAA) and the Active Telugu Film Producer’s Guild jointly announced that Tollywood actors and technicians will take a 20 percent pay cut in their remunerations compared to their pre-COVID remunerations.
This salary reduction will be in vogue until Tollywood recovers fully.
Under 20,000/per day artistes shall be exempt from this reduction.In regard to Technicians, individuals drawing over Rs.5 lakh per film are expected to extend the same reduction of 20%.This understanding will go a long way and all are expected to cooperate.
The producers guild also mentioned the existing challenges like the uncertainty of theater occupancy, zero foreign theatrical market, decrease in revenue realization, and others that forced them to take the decision on pay-cut.Keep watching this space for more updates!
