Patna : , Nov 19, 2009 – Police arrested Avinash Kumar, an accused sub-inspector and SHO, following the incident in which he was allegedly abused by the Additional District Judge (ADJ). Late Thursday night, Station House Incharge (SHO), Gopal Krishna and Sub-Inspector Abhimanyu were both arrested.
They had not only threatened the ADJ with their service pistols, but had also abused him at the Ghoghardiha station police station on Thursday afternoon.Lawyers present at the court helped to rescue the ADJ.
Madhubani Superintendent Of Police, Dr Satyaprakash, confirmed this development.
Following a thorough medical exam at Sadar hospital, the officers were taken into custody under IPC Sections relevant to their case.
Patna High Court made a thorough investigation and sent a notice of its findings to the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police (DGP), and to the Principal Secretary of the Home Ministry of Bihar in order to pursue the strongest action possible against these two officers.
Justice Rajan Gupta, Patna High Court ordered all officers to appear in front of him and present the actions taken at the next hearing on November 29.
Madhubani’s lawyer association suspended all work following the incident and demanded that the accuser be tried as harshly as possible.
