According to Xinhua news agency, it was exiled in Yavne following the conquest Jerusalem by the Romans around 2,000 years ago.

Researchers found evidence that the building contained fragments made of chalkstone cups, which was clear evidence that its occupants were following Jewish laws of ritual purity.

The cemetery was approximately 70 meters away from the building.

There were dozens of graves that were carefully placed at specific distances.

Some of them are coffins and sarcophagi.

They are mostly made of stone, with the exception of one made from lead.

These tombs are believed to be the city’s Jewish community’s, according to researchers.

The most elaborate may be the Jewish sages Yavne.

The team also discovered 150 glass pyramids that were placed on top the tombs.

These were likely used to store precious liquids like oils and fragrances.

The researchers concluded that the findings were evidence of Yavne’s life and death at the time of Sanhedrin, when the foundations for Judaism as it is today were laid.”
