Telangana NGOs Associations’ leader Devi Prasad has announced that he will quit his job to contest as MLC from TRS party, considering the request of KCR, the TRS party President.Devi Prasad, who is working as assistant technical officer in the Irrigation department in Medak district, has resigned to his job today to join active politics.

KCR reportedly offered him MLC ticket under graduate’s quota.

It is evident that Devi Prasad has played an active role during Telangana agitation and has been energetically involved in making Sakalajanula Samme, a grand success.

Since, the government employees can’t contest in any elections, he resigned to his job and his resignation yet to be approved by higher officials.

Devi Prasad joined Andhra Pradesh State Government in 1979.

He earlier was the General Secretary of TNGO.Earlier, the TNGO’s former President, Swamy Goud has also joined in TRS Party and was elected as MLC and later turned as council chairman.

Few other T-NGO leaders are also keen to join active politics but they may have to wait for their turn.

Earlier Devi Prasad tried for Medak Lok Sabha seat which was vacated by CM KCR.But he failed to get the ticket and KCR assured him on MLC seat.Devi Prasad accused the opposition parties of spreading falsehood by floating stories of him being upset with the Chief Minister for denial of ticket .
