Congress party received big blow in Telangana state.D.Srinivas, a senior Congress leader in Telangana, on Thursday quit the party and announced his decision to join the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).
In a letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, D Srinivas has complained and expressed his displeasure over the functioning of the leadership of Digvijay Singh in the state.
DS thanked Sonia for providing him chance to serve the congress party and people.He said while the party entrusted him with many positions, he also worked hard to do justice to these.
The former chief of the Andhra Pradesh unit of the Congress, who was sulking for some time for being sidelined by the party leadership, told reporters it was a sad day for him to quit a party with which he was associated for four decades.
As per reports D.S was upset with high command decision for giving chance to Akula Lalitha in MLC elections.D Srinivas is joining TRS on July 6 in the presence of TRS chief.
According to reports KCR is understood to have assured DS either a Rajya Sabha ticket or an MLC seat.
