The 62nd Filmfare Awards has been being held at the Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai.The awards are presented by the Times Group and it is an annual event that unities the four South film industries (Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada).
Stylish Star Allu Arjun was given away the Best Actor Award for his terrific performance in 2014’s biggest blockbuster ‘Race Gurram’.Shruthi Haasan won Best Actress award for her performance in the same movie.
Manchu Lakshmi won best supporting actress award for Chandamama Kathalu movie.
Allu Arjun beat his opponents Mohan Babu( Rowdy), Nagarjuna( Manam), Venkatesh( Drishyam) and Sharwanand( Run Raja Run) while Shruthi defeated Anjali( Geethanjali), Kajal( Govindhudu Andarivadele), Samantha( Manam) and Pooja Hegde( Oka Laila Kosam).
This is the 3rd Filmfare for Stylish Star Allu Arjun (Vedam & Parugu earlier) and 2nd Filmfare trophy in a row for Manchu Lakshmi (Gundello Godari & now Chandamama Kathalu).On the other hand, ‘Manam’ movie has stood top with four coveted awards such as Best Film, Best Director, Best Music Director and Best Lyricist.
