Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will be taking up a 18Km Padayatra on 18th of this month to promote his smart village concept.Naidu choose to do Padayatra on Jan 18 th which happens to be the 18th Vardhanthi of legend NT Rama Rao.Naidu recently conducted review meeting with district collectors and he expressed his anguish that villages have become like ‘old age homes’ with nobody living there.Naidu called NRI’S and politicians to come forward and adopt the villages.

He said the ‘Smart Village’ programme was aimed at bring a change in the Villages.He said that the objective was to transform the rural landscape and give a new direction to villages.

Now Babu decides to publicize the program in a big way and he is taking 18 kms walkathon for the cause.The official program for this Padayatra is confirmed by CMO.As per reports this walkathon will starts from Velivennu village of West Godavari and will take place in Nidadavole and Kovvuru constituencies.As opposition leader Naidu took Mammoth walkathon and he walked for 2800 kms.He began his padayatra on 2013 October 2 at Hindupur in Anantapur district and walked for over 2,817 km for 208 days covering 16 districts.Naidu’s efforts to rejuvenate the cadre and prepare them for the general election was paid off and he elected as CM.
