Magadheera makers moved to court on Raabta copy issues

Ever since Bollywood film Raabta’s trailer got released, there has always been a debate on whether this film is a copy of SS Rajamouli’s Magadheera or not.As far as the theatrical trailer goes, the main plot of lead pair having connection in the past life, both of them being part of kingdom and the antagonist creating hurdles in their love life both the times looks ditto of the 2009 Telugu Blockbuster.

Can’t guess why the makers of Magadheera have waited this long but better late than never, a case has been filed against Raabta makers.Madhu Mantena, who owns the Hindi remake rights of Magadheera, moved to court with a complaint that the main plot of Raabta has been directly lifted from Magadheera without any consent given.

Madhu Mantena is seeking injunction against the release with a charge of story plagiarism.The Hyderabad court has released a notice and next hearing will be on June 1.

Raabta is directed by Dinesh Vijan.It stars Sushanth Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon as estranged lovers meeting each other in two different lives.

Similar characters were essayed by Ram Charan and Kajal Agarwal in Magadheera.Raabta is scheduled for June 9 release.
