Some areas of Hyderabad experienced a mild quake at around 11pm on friday,The tremors spreads panic among residents of localities, particularly in the Kishan bagh, Golconda fort area, Sashtripuram, bandlaguda, Shahalibanda.The first tremors were noticed around 10.30 p.m.in many areas including Jubilee Hills, Towlichowki, Rajendranagar and Pahadishareef, besides some parts of Old City.
The impact of the tremor was also felt in areas such as Nampally, Towlichouki, Tarnaka etc.This added to the scare among the residents who spent a sleepless night.The tremors lasted five to seven seconds before it stopped.However, there were no reports of any casualties or damage to property from anywhere.
Seismic sensors at city-based National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) in Uppal recorded the earthquake.As per the reports of NGRI the magnitude registered as 1.8 on the Richter Scale and that had occurred in the vicinity of Budvel.The National Geophysical Research Institute’s seismological observatory also recorded the shock with the epicentre in the Jubilee Hills area.
