Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced the 15-member for World Cup 2015. Yuvraj Singh’s hopes of getting a late call-up were dashed as the BCCI announced the team for the mega-event here Tuesday.
Injured all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was included in the 15-member Indian squad .Though Yuvraj name came up for discussion in the meeting, BCCI has given thumbs down to World Cup 2011 player of the tournament.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni was named the captain of the side while Virat Kohli was declared his deputy.
Team India’s 15-member squad for World Cup 2015: MS Dhoni (Captain & Wicket Keeper), Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Ambati Rayudu, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Stuart Binny, Umesh Yadav.
Australia and New Zealand will be jointly hosting ICC World Cup 2015. India plays their first match against Pakistan Feb 15.
