Ravi Babu is not only a unique comedian and supporting artist but indeed a director with a style.But his recent outing Laddu Babu remained as a dud.Now He is coming back with a sequel to his much acclaimed suspense thriller Avunu.
Avunu 2, the sequel to director Ravi Babu’s earlier hit Avunu will go on floors on August 1.The sequel will feature the same cast of Harshavardhan Rane and Poorna in the lead roles.Initially media reports were abuzz that that Rana Daggubati will play the lead in Avunu-2 but eventually, Rane confirmed his berth in this special project.
When contacted a source close to the unit, he clarified, “Harshavardhan Rane has been the first and final choice for Avunu 2 considering that he has done well in Avunu.Someone might have misunderstood with the slight difference between names of Rana and Rane that led to speculations that Rana is part of thriller.”
Apparently, the movie will be completed in a single schedule.Avunu 2 will be jointly produced by Flying Frogs and Suresh Productions.
Avunu which released in 2012 was speculated to have been made on a shoe-string budget of Rs 45 lakh and the movie did surprisingly well at the box-office which came as a big surprise to even the director.
In order to plan for a sequel, the director has abruptly ended the first part of this merchandise.
So now, the screenplay and storyline for Ravi Babu’s sequel to horror-thriller Avunu is underway.Avunu, which starred Harshavardhan Rane, Poornima and Ravi Babu, centered on horror-ghost story set inside a house.
