While Allu Arjun’s DJ – Duvvada Jagannadham trailer is storming the YouTube views records in style, the film is also eating up some criticism on the allegations of plagiarism.Netizens say that this Harish Shankar directorial is heavily inspired or directly copied from Kannada star Upendra’s 2015 release “Shivam”.
Going by the trailer, netizens have raised this allegation.
As DJ trailer reveals, Allu Arjun is seen in two different avatars, a Brahmin and a mafia don.However, there is no clue if both guys are the same or Bunny is playing two roles.Kannada film Shivam deals with the similar subject.
Even in this film Upendra was seen in a Brahmin and a don role.
How far these two films carry a similar plot ? Is DJ an unofficial remake of Shivam or it has a complete different story but the trailer somehow misguided us ? Got to wait till June 23 to know the answers.Interestingly, Shivam was dubbed into Telugu as “Brahmana”.
DJ is produced by Dil Raju and it is the prestigious 25th film in Raju’s production.
