The race has begun for the prestigious post of the chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board, which manages the world richest Tirumala temple in the country.
Present TTD chairman and Congress leader K Bapiraju has to put down office by end of August this year and the chairman post is keenly sought by many of bigwigs like Rayapati Sambashiv Rao (Narasaraopet MP), JC Diwakar Reddy( Anantapur MP), Chadalavada Krishnamurthy(a former Tirupati MLA),and Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu( a senior TDP leader.

According to sources, Rayapati was assured of either a central berth or TTD post when he joined TDP.Chadalavada and Gali who lost the polls have also been the contenders.In a similar vein, it is learnt that JC Diwakar Reddy was also reportedly allured.Rayapati has strived hard to get the TTD Chairman’s post for many times in the past.
Meanwhile, the race for the board member posts has also intensified.Besides ex-officio members and the MLA quota under which three MLAs can be nominated to the TTD Trust Board, another eight to nine more members from various backgrounds can be nominated by the government.
According to sources BJP leader from Tirupati G Bhanuprakash Reddy, who has the blessings of Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu, and film director K Raghavendra Rao names were finalized as TTD members.Two persons from North India are also likely to be taken on the board.
Another member from the Gokaraju Ramaraju family from East Godavari district may also be included as a member.
But close sources of TDP saying that former Tirupati MLA Chadalawada Krishna Murthy is having more chances to bag the prestigious post of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) chairman.
