TRS boss KCR is in the process of changing the names of institutions named after legends and leaders of Andhra Pradesh.Similarly, he wants the name of the AP Express also to be changed.
The Andhra Pradesh Express or AP Express train between Hyderabad and New Delhi will be soon renamed as Telangana Express.
KCR has written to the Railway department, asking them to change the name of Andhra Pradesh Superfast Express name that runs from Hyderabad to New Delhi Renaming the train as Telangana Express will reflect the new reality with regards to the division of Andhra Pradesh, he said.
The name of AP Express was given in the undivided state and it would be proper on part of railway ministry to replace the suffix of train with the name of the new state of Telangana, the chief minister’s said.
KCR further noted that the existing Telangana Express between Secunderabad and Sirpur Kagaznagar could be changed to Komaram Bheem Express.
Telangana government will soon be writing a letter to Centre in this connection
The Andhra Pradesh Express is a superfast train that runs between Hyderabad and New Delhi.It operates daily, taking around 27 hours to cover the distance while passing through the states of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh before reaching New Delhi.
