The Supreme court of India has found AIADMK leader VK Sasikala guilty of holding disproportionate assets and corruption.The bench comprising of justice PC Ghose and AK Roy have announce tier verdict minutes ago.As per the announcement goes, Sasikala has been sentenced with 4 year jail.
Sasikala will also be barred from contesting in elections for a long period of 10 years.
The court ordered Sasikala which is at Golden Bay resort with 120 MLA’s right now, to surrender immediately.This means, road is clear for Paneerselvam now.
This disproportionate assets case on late Jayalalitha, Sasikala and gang in the year of 1997.A charge sheet was filed under Prevention of Corruption Act stating that Jayalalitha, Sasikala and gang hold disproportionate assets to the income they have announced.
It took 20 years for the final verdict to come out.
Now, Sasikala has to sit in jail for 5 years and cannot contest in any election for 10 years.
