A latest survey conducted by Week and IMRBI agencies in Delhi has revealed that BJP will win the assembly elections, but just with minimum majority of 36 seats out of 70 in the assembly. It predicts Aam Admi party will again emerge as second largest party by winning 29 seats in these elections.

Although, BJP may come to power it may be very embarrassing for it to have such a poor majority.

Though the ABP-Nielsen opinion poll in November last year gave BJP a clear majority estimating that the party would win 46 seats out of 70 in the upcoming assembly elections, a lot seems to have changed since then.

Other side AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal and BJP’s chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi are locked in a neck and neck race for people’s preferred choice for the hot seat.Kejriwal was backed by 40 per cent of voters and Bedi by 39 per cent.

The survey predicted a clear edge for AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, Bedi and senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia in their constituencies

In last elections BJP and AAP had won 32 and 28 seats respectively.AAP formed government with support of Congress.

However after 49 days rule Arvind Kejriwal resigned from his post citing the reason as his government’s inability to table the Jan Lokpal Bill in Delhi Assembly for discussion due to stiff opposition from other political parties in the house.Delhi remained thereafter under President’s Rule for about a year.
