A temple has been constructed for legendary playback singer Ghantasala Venkateshwara Rao in Hayathnagar, Hyderabad.A temple of the playback singer was inaugurated by the head of Pushpagiri Peetham, Sri Sri Vidya Nrisimha Bharathi.
It is located in a two-acre campus at Kuntlur, Hayathnagar, on the capital’s outskirts where the Vegesna Foundation runs a care facility that has about 500 physically challenged youth and 300 orphans too.Ghantasala’s daughter Suguna helped the foundation but she could not make it to the inaugural function as she is in the USA.Ghanatasala composed music for more than 100 movies in all south languages.He composed and sang the Bhagavad Gita which is very famous with the singers typical voice.
Ghantasala was “no mere singer” but also a “true poet” who with his melodious voice could comprehend and did give expression to the deepest feelings of love, pity, joy, suffering, piety, happiness and bitterness in a manner no one else could, or did.Having Temple on his name is indeed a great honor and he deserves it.
